Ted Baseler’s involvement and impact on the wine industry, regionally and on an international scale, is immense. Chateau Ste. Michelle wines have consistently garnered international acclaim and have helped boost the state of Washington’s deserving reputation as one of the most innovative and celebrated wine regions in the world. Ted has served as chairman of the Washington Wine Commission, as director of the Washington Wine Institute, and on the board of the Napa-based Wine Market Council. His vision and leadership have opened new markets and new opportunities that have added hundreds of jobs and $1,000,000’s into the state’s economy and helped enhance the success of many of Washington’s top wineries.

Additionally, he has led the efforts to launch a world class Viticulture and Enology program at WSU by working with the State Legislature to secure the necessary funding.
His generosity and passion is felt throughout the region as the driving force behind the Chateau Ste. Michelle Diversity Scholarship Dinner and Auction, which has raised more than $1,500,000 in scholarship support for minority students at both the University of Washington and Washington State University.
